Cookies & sign-in sessions
This section describes the cookies and session handling used by this website and its sign-in features.
Sidebar preference
When a desktop sidebar is changed, the site writes a first-party cookie named sidebar_state with its open or collapsed value. It is a functional interface preference and is set to expire after seven days.
Sign-in and session cookies
Member sign-in uses Clerk, which may set essential authentication and session cookies to sign you in and maintain your account session. Clerk manages the specific cookie names and lifetimes.
The API also supports an OpenID Connect sign-in flow. In that flow, an HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax cookie named sid holds a random session identifier; session details are stored on the server. The cookie is configured for up to seven days. Sign-out deletes the server-side session and clears the cookie. Short-lived sign-in security cookies are used for up to ten minutes and are cleared after a successful sign-in callback.
Analytics, advertising and consent
The site currently sets cookies for interface preferences and authentication/session functions; its application code does not set optional analytics or advertising cookies. No cookie-consent banner is currently shown.
